Triumph Bonneville Range Launched, Priced at Rs. 6.9 Lakh

Triumph today launched/unveiled the Thruxton model from the Bonneville series in India at the Auto Expo 2016.

British motorcycle marque, Triumph today has launched the 2016 Bonneville range in India with prices starting at Rs. 6.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new range includes a host of models including the Street Twin, Bonneville T120 and Thruxton R that feature a host of changes including a revised frame, new engine options and improved power output. Moreover, all three bike feature additional electronic aids for better control. Triumph has commenced accepting bookings for the new Bonneville models across the country. Starting with the new entry-level Triumph, the Street-Twin brings back the retro styling from the 1956 Bonneville accentuated with teh 10-spoke wheels and lower black section. The naked is powered by the new and larger 900c parallel twin--cylinder engine tuned to produce 54bhp and 80Nm of torque at 3200rpm, while paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike also gets updated with a host rider assist systems on board including switchable ABS, assisted slipper clutch, Ride-by-Wire (RbW) and traction control. Furthermore, there is the gear indicator, USB socket and engine immobilizer. Replacing the T100 in Triumph's lineup, the T120 is based on the same retro styling and gets updates including twin pod instrument cluster, LED DRLs, chrome inserts and new peashooter exhausts. The T120's revised frame is now lighter chassis and the bike gets ergonomically better. Power comes from a new 1200cc twin-cylinder motor tuned to produce 105Nm of torque, at a low 3100rpm. The firing order is also revised while the assist systems carried over. You also get multiple riding modes as standard, whereas the three-level heated grips and cruise control as optional. Also Read: Auto Expo Updates - Day 2 Coming to the most powerful Bonneville, the Thruxton R cafe racer was only unveiled and uses the 1200cc parallel-twin motor, updated for more performance. There is also a standard spec Thruxton sold overseas and won't be coming to India. The high torque motor features a lighter crank and airbox designed, which helps to develop 122Nm of torque at 4950rpm. The bike now also comes mated to a six-speed transmission instead of the older five-speed gearbox. Other upgrades include Showa USD front forks and Ohlins twin gas charged dampers at the rear, both of which are fully adjustable.
