Volkswagen India will not participate in the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo, sources close to the company have told carandbike.com. The next Auto Expo is scheduled to take place in February 20178 and VW Group which includes Audi and Skoda might also give the biennial event a miss.

Currently undergoing the final stages of testing, three test mules of the much awaited Tata Hexa were spotted in Pune.

The 2016 Auto Expo witnessed a total of over 6 lakh visitors as the event came to a successful conclusion on Tuesday, with around 95,000 attending the final day.

Environmental advocacy group Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) slammed Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) for saying that the Delhi air which was sucked in by the company's cars was 'far dirtier' than what they emit. The CSE said that the comments amounted to equating cars with 'air-purifying machines'.

After the successful development of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza by Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the carmaker has reportedly said that its engineers will take the lead in conceptualising and developing at least 3-4 models. India's biggest carmaker has also said that these will be among the 15 new vehicles which will be launched in the country by 2020.

The 2016 Auto Expo witnessed around 1.09 lakh visitors on Monday despite it being a weekday. This maintains the fabulous run that the event has being having in terms of attendance after Sunday witnessed a record 1.3 lakh visitors - the highest number ever recorded in one day at the show.
